Seedling protection and barrier crops in chili pepper to reduce whitefly denseness and prevalence of pepper yellow leaf curl virus

چکیده
Abstract Yellow leaf curl disease caused by pepper yellow virus (PepYLCV) and transmitted the whitefly ( Bemisia tabaci ), becomes main problem in major horticultural crops, including chili pepper. The control of insect vector is crucial to overwhelm diseases. experiment was designed verify efficacy integrated focused on barrier crops healthy seedling techniques reduce crowdedness, prevalence virus, crop yield. This used a randomized block design. treatments were two kinds seedlings, with without cover, combined four borders i.e., maize, Sunn–hemp, screen (chiffon), (non-border). result indicated that use protected seedlings able defend against attack B. delay infection for about 2 weeks. together (maize sunn-hemp) reduced number pests, PepYLCV damage up 49.94 – 50.80%, gave highest yields. positive correlation (r) between population incidence 0.925, whereas yield negative (r = -0.8886). These results will provide an advance more valuable practical methods safeguarding production.

Microarray analyses for identifying genes conferring resistance to pepper leaf curl virus in chilli pepper (Capsicum spp.)
Pepper leaf curl virus (PepLCV) is a serious threat to pepper (Capsicum spp.) production worldwide. Molecular mechanism underlying pepper plants response to PepLCV infection is key to develop PepLCV resistant varieties. In this study, we generated transcriptome profiles of PepLCV resistant genotype (BS-35) and susceptible genotype (IVPBC-535) after artificial viral inoculation using microarray ...
متن کاملPhenotypic and Molecular Screening of Tomato Germplasm for Resistance to Tomato Yellow Leaf Curl Virus
Tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV) is a major tomato virus in tropical and subtropical regions. In this study, 134 accessions of Solanum lycopersicum and six accessions of Solanum peruvianum were assessed for resistance to an Iranian isolate of TYLCV. Plants were inoculated using whiteflies (Bemisia tabaci) and the reaction of plants was evaluated based on either disease symptoms or viral DN...
متن کاملReplication of Tomato Yellow Leaf Curl Virus in Its Whitefly Vector, Bemisia tabaci.
UNLABELLED Tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV) is a begomovirus transmitted exclusively by the whitefly Bemisia tabaci in a persistent, circulative manner. Replication of TYLCV in its vector remains controversial, and thus far, the virus has been considered to be nonpropagative. Following 8 h of acquisition on TYLCV-infected tomato plants or purified virions and then transfer to non-TYLCV-hos...
متن کاملMolecular Biology of Chili Pepper Anthocyanin Biosynthesis
Chili pepper (Capsicum spp.) is an important horticultural crop worldwide. Chili pepper fruits from different Capsicum species have been highly consumed in Mexico since pre-Columbian times. Some Capsicum species synthesize and accumulate anthocyanins in different tissues and organs. Although the anthocyanin biosynthetic pathway has been established for different plant species, very few studies ...
متن کاملNatural recombination between Tomato yellow leaf curl virus-is and Tomato leaf curl virus.
The complete genome sequences (2791 and 2793 nt) of isolates of Tomato yellow leaf curl virus-Is (TYLCV-Is) from Spain (SP72/97) and Portugal (Port2/95) were determined. These isolates are closely related to TYLCV-Is isolates reported in Japan (Japan-A and Japan-S) and Israel (Israel/Mild). Comparison of all sequenced isolates of TYLCV-Is showed that part of the genome comprising the intergenic...
